Agatha Petkau wins CAPPS Reading Contest! |

On Tuesday, November 17, the George Price Centre hosted the Reading Contest organized by the Cayo Association of Principals of Primary Schools (CAPPS). 7 Contestants bravely stood before the three judges, Mrs. Ethnelda Paulino, Mrs. Felene Sawaso and Mr. Lawrence Vernon, to read a story they had been given little time prepare for. The judges had tuned their ears to hear the correct pronunciation and intonation, among other criteria. After careful deliberation, they awarded 3rd prize to Stavos Baldarez of Ontario Christian School and 2nd prize to Christen Waight of Sacred Heart Primary. The winner was Agatha Petkau (picture) of Belmopan's United Evergreen Primary School. Congratulations to all participants, their teachers and parents for a job well done!
