Under the able guidance of Carla and Julie, two Belgian Theatre Science students, a group of Belmopan youngsters took on the challenge of putting together a play from scratch -script, props, costumes and all- in three weeks of summer time! "Starlight" tells the story of one girl's dream to win Belizean Idol. Come and enjoy the performance at the Centre and be dazzled by Belmopan's young talent! August 1 (7.00 p.m.) and August 2 (4.00 p.m.). Entrance: Free!
Presentation and Film Screening

A special presentation by Sra. Estrella Hendrickson on the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Television followed by a screening of short student films. A question and answer session on the film school and filmmaking workshops offered at the school follows. With thanks to the organizers of the Belize International Film Festival for bringing this presentation to Belmopan!
How to avoid BURNOUT in your job!

In this presentation by Emil Pulido, you will find out more about burnout as he will share a summary of six peer reviewed researches from six different cultures/countries. The presentation will be followed by a "How Burned Out are You?" test and practical tips on how to avoid burnout. All are welcome to this FREE presentation.

Sponsored by the Belize Natural Energies Charitable Trust, the Conflict Resolution Programme envisions offering Conflict Resolution sessions to children between the ages of 7 and 16.
The Centre has teamed up with Dr. Jennifer Morrow who has a wealth of experience in this field. She will conduct a workshop which will include prevention, intervention, Conflict Resolution techniques and teaching techniques. The manual also includes activity sheets which will help children to understand how problems can and should be resolved in a peaceful manner.
We are inviting participation from parents, teachers, youth leaders, community workers, ... anyone who is interested in bringing about a positive change in the lives of our children. Participation is free; please call Elsie at 822-1054 to sign up!

Joyce Wang, a graduate of St. Catherine Academy, former student of Julietta Burrowes and currently a student at West Virginia University has returned to Belize to share her passion and talents with Belize. She will perform pieces by Beethoven, Chopin, Ginastera and other composers. A wonderful Saturday's family event you don't want to miss...
Tickets are $10.00 (adults) and $5.00 (children) and can be reserved at the Centre or purchased at the door.
