Under the theme "Wi all bilang, wi di goh deh strong, wid inclujan", the National Resource Center for Inclusive Education (NaRCIE) is organizing Disabilities Week in Belize. The events taking place that week are aimed at highlighting the needs of persons with disabilities and to promote public awareness about the challenges people with disabilities face, with specific emphasis on their educational needs.

NaRCIE, formerly known as the Special Education Unit, has lined up the following activities for the Belmopan Zone:

May 25 at 9.30 a.m. - Ecumenical Service at the George Price Centre for Peace and Development to open the week.
May 27 at 9.00 a.m. - School Parade starting at the Civic Centre parking lot and ending at the Governor General Field.
May 29 - Participants from the Cayo District will attend the Finger Spelling Bee in Belize City.
May 31 at 6.00 p.m. - Launching of the Association of Inclusion for Persons with Special Needs (AIPSN) at the George Price Centre for Peace and Development. The event will include awards ceremony for a poster competition.
May 25 to 31 - Poster exhibition at the George Price Centre for Peace and Development during regular opening hours.
