End-of-Summer Activity Tip
With only few more days to go before the start of school, here's an activity your children will love: exploring the colouring book by Dr. Anabel Ford on the Maya Forest Garden and El Pilar.
What may look like a wild jungle is really a welcoming garden: the Maya Forest Garden. Maya gardeners chose and tended plants that were useful to them, and still are. Their forest gardens are a 2,000 year old gift, but a living gift that we must care for, use and learn about, and share with our children.
The booklets are an attractive combination of text, pictures and symbols and give children an opportunity to colour in their very own Forest Garden. They are for sale at the George Price Centre for Peace and Development for $10.00 only.
Dr. Ford was a guest at the Centre, through the efforts of the Embassy of Mexico, when she shared her findings on the Maya Forest Garden in a fascinating presentation. She has promised to come back next year to explore the garden further with us.
