The Centre’s Auditorium, Conference Rooms and Information Technology Training Centre provide a venue to share and improve individual abilities and community
spirit through study, dialogue, debate, expression of the arts,
and much more.
It
is the vision of the Centre that these processes of self-development
will empower more people to work together for the growth and advancement
of Belize, free from civil strife and disparities.
The facilities, complete with audiovisual equipment and services
are available to individuals and organizations who wish to host
conferences, meetings and other similar events.
The
revenue generated supports the Centre's programmes and its Library.

ART SYMPOSIUM
Hosted by Nehanda Niginio
The symposium seeks to address the need for -and the development of- a comprehensive art curriculum, allowing students better learning through the visual arts.
The conference will also be looking at the commercial aspect of art in Belize; breeding a more art-conscious society through education with the intention of creating a bigger market of local artists, art dealers and buyers.
Teachers and artists will be joining an open panel discussion on the above topics with the goal of formulating a plan of action addressing the concerns.

LAUNCH OF DISABILITIES WEEK
Ecumenical Service
The National Resource Center for Inclusive Education (NaRCIE) is once again organizing Disabilities Week in Belize. The events taking place that week are aimed at highlighting the needs of persons with disabilities and to promote public awareness about the challenges people with disabilities face, with specific emphasis on their educational needs.
On May 24, Disabilities Week will be opened with a Ecumenical Service at the George Price Centre for Peace and Development
Other activities will be held Nationwide. All are encouraged to stay tuned to what is going on in your area, to participate in the events and to learn more from NaRCIE's awareness campaigns.

GEORGE PRICE: MAN OF PURPOSE AND VISION
The most comprehensive exhibit on George Price, including a touching pictorial display, a complete timeline, audio stations containing 48 digitized recordings of speeches and radio addresses and a short documentary with archival footage and interviews.
Come and meet the man behind the politician.
Opening hours:
Monday through Thursday from 9.00 to 6.00 p.m. (except lunch hour) – Friday from 9.00 to 5.00 p.m. - Sundays from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. To schedule school visits or a visit outside of these hours, please call the Centre at 822-1054. |

CHESS CLASSES
Every Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:00 till 5:30 p.m. children ages 8 to 14 are welcome to join in the fun of learning how to play chess. Classes are offered free of cost by the Belize National Youth Chess Foundation. To read more on the benefits of playing chess please visit the BNYCF website: www.belizechess.org. |

READING CLASSES
Under the able guidance of Mr. Guerrra, senior students of the Belize Christian Academy are helping 30 primary school children between the ages of 7 and 9 to improve their reading skills. The programme runs every Wednesday from 4.15 to 5.30 p.m.
