Book of the Week – Ready-to-Use Conflict Resolution Activities for Elementary and Secondary Students (Beth Teolis)

Ready-to-Use Conflict Resolution Activities
for Elementary Students (by Beth Teolis)
for Secondary Students (by Ruth Perlstein and Gloria Thrall)

For Elementary Students: This unique resource provides over 100 ready-to-use lessons and illustrated activities to help children develop the self-esteem, sense of security, empathy, and skills necessary to work out differences with others peacefully.  The lessons and activities are varied; designed to appeal to the multiple learning styles found in any group of children. They are accompanied by complete directions and suggestions for their integration into the curriculum or counseling program. Novel ideas for hall and bulletin board displays are also included. All student handouts and activities may be photocopied.

For Secondary Students: This practical resource gives counselors, coaches, and youth leaders a program for training secondary students in conflict resolution and peer mediation. Activities use typical adolescent scenarios and role-plays with reproducible handouts to make the skills involved in resolving conflicts relevant and accessible to students of all ability levels.
