Exhibition: 50 Years of Peace Corps in Belize!

Peace Corps first arrived in 1962 at the invitation of the Government in what was then British Honduras.  Since then, more than 1,800 Volunteers have served in Belize.  The goals of Peace Corps are to help Belize meet its need for trained men and women; promote a better understanding of Americans; and promote a better understanding of Belizeans on the part of the American people.
Today, Peace Corps Volunteers continue to work side by side with Belizeans in Education, Health and Business and Organizational Development Projects from Corozal to Toledo.
Peace Corps Volunteers live in their villages/workplace for two full years, where they learn local languages and become integrated within the communities.  They build positive relationships over time and work with and for the community.

This 50th anniversary exhibit is a full reflection of two countries with the common goal of
working together to make a positive difference in the lives of Belizeans.
